Albion’s activities are coordinated by three Senior Partners: Americo Romano, Albion’s founder (1993), Michele Monaci who joined the company in 2003 and Odile Etienne who became part of Albion in 2010.

Advisory in photovoltaic sector
In 2020 Albion received the mandate from a bank to act as «financial advisor» in a € 12 Mio project financing initiative for the refinancing of a portfolio made of five photovoltaic plants for an overall capacity of 6,6 MW. Albion supported also the parties in the initial Debt Sizing phase.
Borrower-side loan agency and advisory in wind sector
During 2020 Albion provided agency and advisory services on the borrower’ side, with respect to a project finance loan (€ 51 M) related to a wind farm for an installed capacity of 29,75 MW.
Documentary Agent in a PF agreement in wind sector
In the first half of 2020, Albion was mandated by some international banks to undertake the role of “documentary agent” and subscribed a loan agreement for the refinancing (€ 29 Mio) of various wind parks for an overall installed capacity of about 45,6 MW in South Italy
Borrower-side loan agency in photovoltaic sector
Since the end of 2019 Albion has been supporting a group of Sponsors in the management of a € 190 Mio project financed & leased photovoltaic plants financing portfolio for an overall capacity of about 45 MW.

Documentary Agent and Financial Model Advisory in the renewables sector
In 2019, Albion was mandated by the lending banks to assume the role of “documentary agent” in a € 21 mln PF loan agreement defined to finance a wind project of 20 MW in the South of Italy. Within that context, Albion granted its assistance as financial advisor, producing the project financial model. This operation was finalised in 2019.
Modelling advisory in the educational sector
During 2019, Albion developed an “evaluation tool” and connected user’s guidelines, for the use of Arab equity investors needing to run a first evaluation of possible infrastructural investments in the education sector.
Collective catering PPP tender
Albion provided assistance, within the context of a restricted tender procedure, for the setting up of a proposal (construed in compliance with Article 182 of Italian legislative decree 50/2016) in the collective/schools catering sector) to an important Municipality in the North of Italy (value of the concession around € 37,8 mln). Albion in particular developed the business plan and financial model and reviewed the concession agreement. The proposal was submitted in 2019.

Documentary Agent in a PF agreement in the wind sector In mid-2019, Albion was mandated by two international banks to assume the role of “documentary agent” in a loan agreement on a limited recourse basis, for an amount of € 70 mln, for the refinancing of various wind parks (for an overall installed power of 24 MW circa in the South of Italy).
PPP proposal in the collective catering sector
In July 2019, following a tender procedure in compliance with article 183 of Italian legislative decree 50/2016, a concession agreement concerning the collective catering sector was awarded to an Italian public company in the
North of Italy, advised by Albion; Albion assisted on all economic and financial aspects, in particular building the financial model, throughout all the phases of the procedure and up to the adjudication of the public tender procedure.

PPP financing due diligence
In 2019, Albion advised a primary Italian bank with respect to the financing of a PPP concerning the construction and management of a cemetery in the south of Italy.
PPP venture
In 2018, Albion assisted a large Lombardy municipality in evaluating a possible PPP venture related to the requalification of a large urban public park by means of new infrastructural investments.
Survey in the photovoltaic sector
Within the context of a case pending before the European Court of Human Rights, in 2019 Albion was instructed by different Clients to act as surveyor, producing financial reports to be submitted to the Court, related to seven photovoltaic parks located in Italy.
Advisory in the water sector
Albion has supported a concessionaire in the renegotiation of some relevant contractual, financial and economic aspects of a concession agreement; the relevant “addendum” to the concession agreement was formalized in the first semester of 2019.
Energy efficiency PPP proposal
In 2019, following a tender procedure in compliance with article 183 of Italian legislative decree 50/2016, a BOOT concession agreement concerning a cogeneration plant with energy production was awarded to an international private energy company advised by Albion; Albion assisted on all economic and financial aspects throughout all the phases of the procedure and up to the adjudication of the public tender procedure.

In September 2018, Albion provided assistance in the renegotiation of some contractual conditions of the PF loan facilities in order to re-price the deal and optimize shareholders’ financial position.

Albion has assisted a concessionaire operating in the water sector with respect to the interpretation and application of the Method elaborated by ARERA (The Italian Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and the Environment) for determining and updating applicable fees for the integrated water service.

In the interest of the borrower Albion acted as financial advisor in the negotiation and structuring of project finance-based facilities, for ventures related to (i) the construction and management of a 16 MW wind park

In 2016, a long term debt restructuring agreement ( amount of the financial debt restructured € 97 mln circa) between a fully owned subsidiary of a large Lombard municipality and banks was signed with the assistance of Albion as financial advisor to the public side (the agreement was defined in compliance with the provisions of article 67, paragraph 3, let (d) of the Italian R.D. n. 267/1942).
